Xinzhuang Industrial Park is a key industrial park in Shanghai, where large numbers of energy-using enterprises are gathered. The first phase of the project has replaced 5 heating boilers of the original Xinzhuang Industrial Park Heating Company and 24 self-contained coal-fired boilers of 12 thermal users. The second phase of the project aims to replace coal-fired boilers of the rest enterprises including Michelin and Double Coin, to meet the industrial steam and heat (cooling) tasks in the Park and nearby areas.
The first phase of the project uses two LM6000 SPRINT aero gas turbine generator units with an maximum output of 120MW, plus two HRSG and two extraction condensing turbines, with a maximum steam supply capacity of 75T/h, providing users in the park with industrial steam and air conditioning load. The power plant can offer 556GWh of electricity and 1.16 million GJ of heat per year to the society in addition to meeting the needs of local steam and heat (cooling).
The second phase of the project plans to add two sets of 30MW gas-steam combined cycle units, and HDGE delivered two LM2500+G4 aero gas turbine generator units with a simple cycle power of 33MW and efficiency of 36.9%. Energy conversion rate of CCHP will reach 80% when the second phase completed.
Xinzhuang distributed energy project adopts design-build-finance-operate (DBFO) model. Shanghai Huadian Minhang Energy Co., Ltd., a project company established by CHD, has acquired existing heating equipment in Xinzhuang Industrial Park, and built a new gas CCHP facility, to supply safe, stable and uninterrupted heat, power and cooling to the Park.
